Chalk and Talk

resource sharing, collaboration, interactive whiteboards

I have been challenged by Ian's on line broadcasts, and lead to ponder how that might be included in course development and delivery at College. I have been trawling the net for ideas, and came across this article on 'Hybrid' courses.. course that are partly conventional, and partly on line

http://www.uwsa.edu/ttt/articles/garnham.htm

I am speculating that such courses could be the way of the near future (who knows what the more distant future might look like).

One scenario I put to staff yesterday was that we might 'staff' classes for (say) 3 periods per week, and then have boys work in study spaces using on line material/podcasts etc, perhaps with a department resource area/resource staff member available to provide guidance where required.

I need to develop my thoughts further.

OK it has been a while but I am keen to generate some discussion on this site and maybe introduce the Habits of Mind as a point of interest :-)
